Carlos Almeida Thread Starter Member Jan 15, 0 Hi Everyone again , I have a question that Google doesn’t seem to be able to reply despite my intensive searches, so since everyone here has been tremendously helpful in my other two threads, I will once again rely on your knowledge to help me figure some things out. As always, my budget is tight, my Electronics knowledge is not very extensive but with 1h or so of researching a specific subject I’m capable of understanding enough to engage myself in a discussion and although I have good soldering skills for minor things, my understanding of circuits schematics is very limited, so reading one is kind of like reading Spanish I’m Portuguese, so I can understand the majority of it but the probabilities of making a bad interpretation is very high. I have 2 two 4 ohm speakers that I want to connect to the Amplifier s , for testing purpose I’ve assembled one amplifier in Stereo with both 4ohm speakers, the amplifier runs smoothly with lower volumes but as expected starts to warm up when the sound is raised, so this is an option that I’ve discarded. Create a Stereo system using both amplifiers, each amplifier Mono bridged to one 4ohm speaker, and the input sound coming from one single 3pin audio source. If I only feed the Left or Right Channel Output and the Common Ground to one of the amplifiers, will the amplifier still bridge to 4ohm Mono without losing power? My guess is no but it’s worth asking can’t test it because the speakers are currently not at my disposal for another couple of weeks. So pretty much that’s it, I have a problem that I really can’t work a way around it, mostly because I’m ignorant on the subject and never before worked with 3pin stereo systems this also poses a trouble when connecting a potentiometer but I want to go step by step. I’m at work right now so I can’t draw any “schematics” of both questions I placed above, hope my description is sufficient for the time being, will try to draw something soon and place it here for ease of reference. Thank you very much to everyone.

Wiring 2-channel Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifiers

Overview[ edit ] Bridged or paralleled modes of working, normally involving audio power amplifiers, are methods of combining the output of two identical amplifiers to provide, what is in effect, a mono amplifier. Combining more than two amplifiers can be effected using the basic principles described, including the possibility of bridge and parallel modes in combination. Two identical amplifiers are most often encountered in a common case, with a common power supply, and would normally be regarded as a stereo amplifier.

Any conventional stereo amplifier can be operated in bridge or parallel mode provided that the common loudspeaker terminals normally black are connected and common to the ground rail within the amplifier. Some two channel amplifiers, or stereo amplifiers, have the built in facility to operate in bridge mode by operating a switch and observing the input and output connections detailed on the back panel or in the manual.

This option is most often found in high power PA equipment or amplifiers designed for car audio applications.

Jun 13,  · I am planning on using my 2 plxs and my 4 cerwin vega vs (1 amp) and 2 vs (1 amp). I am goign to put the s on the stage (on the corners) and I plan on putting the other 2 on the ground and daisying off those 2 to hook up the other 2 speakers feet out further.

It shows on the picture by the two AC outputs 7 and 8. I cannot find a download for the manual so I cannot confirm that both of these AC outputs are milliamps but this is what it looks like from the data on their website. Will this damage the unit? The amp comes with FX loop but currently my new setup is running everything upfront. I only want to gate my drive pedals and vibe. The pedals in use are as below: You want to set up a loop with the G String as follows: The output will drive your Strymon and Dyna Verb without any truncation of the delay or reverb and the output of these effects will feed the input of your amplifier.

And to switch between just distortion to just preamp, do I have to hit two buttons or does turning off distortion automatically engage preamp?

Electric Hybrid Case The Mono M80 bass case is among the lightest, thinnest, strongest, most versatile carrying solutions for the professional bassist. It’s a hybrid case featuring an ultra light laminated foam shell with strategically placed ABS panels, providing an unmatched level of protection for your most prized investments. Inside the Mono case, the patented neckbrace design suspends the bass guitar’s headstock, protecting it from impacts that could otherwise snap the neck.

An oversized velcro strap quickly secures the neck against a specialized high-density foam block, which also keeps the tuning pegs away from the sides of the case during transport.

[/previewimg]If you have a Combo amp with an effects loop, you can use both a PA and the Amplifier to get your favorite amp’s distortion tones, with the full sound of the PA. If your Combo amp doesn’t have an effects loop, you will not be able to use this configuration.

Stereo amp or mono amp for your sub? Most preamps just have a mono output for a subwoofer. No real reason to run stereo for subs, unless maybe you are running two speaker boxes as subs. Most amps are switchable to mono mode and put out more power in mono. How do you hook up an amp and sub woofer up to a stock radio in a firebird? The question should be, can the two 15 inch sub-woofers handle Watts? The speakers should have a power rating marked on them.

If the speakers can handle Watts, and they are suitably impedance matched with the amplifier, there should not be a problem. How do you bypass the factory Bose sub-woofer and amp to ad an after market amp and sub in a Nissan Maxima SE? I have a Nissan Maxima that has a Bose system. I found a way to bypass the need for a new amp and sub.

Bose systems have little amps attached to each speaker including the sub on the parcel shelf.

Hey it’s one of those old horn speakers

These switches allow you to route a single audio source and sometimes more than one through a switching system that distributes the audio to various speakers or speaker pairs throughout the home. In this way you can choose, or select, which areas of the home you want to have audio. While simplistic, there are things you want to take into account when using these devices so that you use them properly and also maximize the way you distribute audio to various speakers in your particular application.

Typically, a speaker selector switch is placed after an amplifier or AV receiver, so that it can take a source—be it a radio, iPod or other streaming music source—and pass that on to speakers throughout your house. These are typically passive devices intended for use with already-amplified speaker-level signals.

LOADS Amplifiers are designed to power a specific “load”, meaning a speaker or set of speakers having a specific “AC impedance” measured in ohms. Impedance resists the flow of electric current so the higher the speaker impedance the less current the amplifier has to supply. Conversely, the lower the impedance the more current must be supplied. In other words, a low impedance speaker is a big workload for your amp and a high impedance speaker is a small load.

To push more air, several speakers always of equal impedance can be wired together in a cabinet. The cabinet impedance depends on how the speakers are wired and may differ from the impedance of the speakers. Wiring diagrams and their effect on cabinet impedance are displayed below. An amp works best when driving a load with the same impedance as the amplifier’s “output impedance”.

If they don’t match, there could be consequences:

Can i hook 4 speakers up to one mono amp?

Attempting to use an amplifier at an unstable load will damage the amp. Note that some high end car audio vendors intentionally underrate their amplifiers so that a 50×2 Watt amplifier 4 ohms really does produce x1 4 ohms. This is done so that car stereo systems using their equipment can enter car audio competitions in a lower Wattage category, giving them an edge over the competition.

Meanwhile, many low end manufacturers overstate the power of their amplifiers. How do you run speakers in parallel? Wiring speakers in parallel is simple.

In parallel at ohms the amp can deliver close to W, into W of speakers, which could end badly if the volume is turned up to far. If you’re used to paying Crestron prices, then in the sorts of setting you are describing, an Extron IN/6/8 boxes are a .

In my case, I also have the added burden that two of my main contributors are or were speaker manufacturers, some of whose products you will see as References below. Other associates are distributors of speaker lines. Accordingly, I made the only decision I could: All the choices in this category are mine alone. What I say to those who question my objectivity is; please closely read the rest of the References first to see my consistency and sensitivities, before making judgements on the few choices you may be understandingly skeptical about.

Any final and true judgement concerning these or any specific components requires a personal listening session with them.

I second his thoughts, and here are a few of my own. I own 3 of these amps. I’ve owned them for about a year and a half. I didn’t buy them here but wouldn’t hesitate, the price here is the best i’ve seen. I don’t have multiple inputs, i only have my computer running into them.

What I was thinking of doing whenever I got tweeters, was to hook a 4 channel amp to 4 components and then off the head unit 4 tweeters with proper crossovers. and the tweets off the head unit would be getting about watts rms each and at 4 ohms.

Until a better, more reliable company comes out with one that sounds better than what they currently offer, I’m going to have to endorse the generic brand known as Behringer.

I own 1 roland Kc and a KC and this thing blows them out of the water. This amp is basically an affordable version of the Roland but they stepped it up with cleaner sound, beefier low end and power. Hit the sub bass enhancer and you will see what I mean. Not all keyboard players only play rhodes or B3. In todays age, you need amps that can handle samples, crisp and piercing sawtooth virtual synths patches layered with effects.

The Roland and just about any other keyboard amp are made for aging lounge acts and although reliable, have had their time. This monster seems to be made to handle modern music and that is a big plus for today’s muscian. The mic input I use it to monitor my vocoders. This thing just rocks.

Do you recommend hooking up 4 speakers in a two channel stereo?

I was wondering what the benefits are for getting a 4 channel amp vs a 2 channel amp for powering just your 4 speakers. I understand on a 4 channel you can use fader and balance where as on a 2 channel you would probably just have fronts and back fader. Why would you want or even need the balance function? I cannot think when you would have the left side turned up higher than the right side?

Aug 12,  · Now i have 4,8, 16 jacks so can hook Up any of my amps. ken – March 25th, i have 4 8ohm speakers my amp has 4 8 16 ohm 8 ohm speakers and you place the black and red wire on one speaker and the white and green wire on the other speaker you will get: 4 ohm mono, 8 ohm left + 8 ohm right stereo, 8 ohm left only mono.

Q3 What is the impedance when I combine two eight ohm cabinets? It can be done, but it will cause a mismatch of levels. This is not recommended. Q6 What is the impedance of an eight ohm cabinet combined with a four ohm cabinet? Tube replacement may become necessary after one to three years, depending on enviroment, usage and care. Generally speaking, a tube does not need to be replaced unless it becomes noisy or microphonic.

Q10 Can I use an instrument cable shielded to connect my amp to my speakers? Please use 18 gauge cable or heavier 16, 14, or Q11 Can I run my amp without any speaker cabinets connected to it? An external speaker connection can be achieved wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired through the 3. The issue around using the 3. This means that, when using a wired connection, your wired speakers must be turned on if you ever want to use the Echo Dot. On the other hand, with Bluetooth speakers, the Echo Dot switches back to its internal speakers when the Bluetooth speakers are turned off. Even if the Bluetooth speakers are on, you have the flexibility to sever the connection hands-free by simply asking Alexa, so you can switch back to the internal speaker at will.

If you have your heart set on using wired speakers with the Echo Dot, there are things you can do to make wired speakers a lot more convenient. Connecting a cable to the 3. This includes all Alexa communication, and not just music output. The Echo Dot has no way to know if there is an active speaker on the other end, so it must assume there is one if you connect the 3. If you want to use the Echo Dot with wired speakers and still retain the option to communicate with Alexa while those speakers are off, you have three options.
